My niece Madison graduated from high school last spring and like previous graduation parties, we also held this one at my parents house. They have the perfect yard for it and plenty of parking which just makes it so easy. Her graduation marked the start of a seven year stretch where my parents will have at least one grandchild graduating every year. That is pretty cool.
Madison’s party was slightly different than the others in that she loves music and is a very talented singer. My dad got to hear her sing for the first time at her party and it was awesome. He was a very proud Grampa. Having music be a central part in the overall theme of the party was a no brainer. It was also a nice twist since the school colors were the same as the previous parties. However, this time we decided on using a true gold versus a golden yellow. Madison and I started brainstorming ideas, scouring Pinterest and pinning them to a board we both collaborated on.
I had a blast making everything for this party and because it was for someone I love, it just makes it even more special. The music chalkboard is one of my favorite décor pieces, inspired by one we found on Pinterest. The saying itself is perfect. The original that inspired it was done as part of a stylized wedding shoot on The Frosted Petticoat blog, the rest of that shoot is pretty amazing too.
